The former coach and uncle of Rafa Nadal, who has 22 Grand Slam championships and won the Olympic singles and doubles medals in 2008 and 2016, predicts the Spanish couple will win gold in Paris in 2024. Spain sighs with its dream couple.

Spain sighs as it announces its doubles pairing at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Few countries can brag of having both Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. The Olympic event occurs at significantly different times for the two tennis players. Rafa Nadal is 38 years old, has won everything, and is entering what could be his final season. Carlos Alcaraz, on the other hand, is 23 and poised to be one of the decade’s top tennis players. He recently won Roland Garros, which is his doubles partner’s favorite competition. He is now considered one of the favourites for Wimbledon.

Playing doubles differs from playing singles. However, with two players at this level, anything is conceivable. Toni Nadal is one of Nadal’s closest confidants. Toni, his uncle and former coach for many years, has played an important role in the Spaniard’s professional career. Toni, who now coaches some of his nephew’s rivals, feels the two are serious Olympic gold medal candidates.

“In an interview with Spanish newspaper AS, Toni Nadal said, “I spoke with him (Rafa Nadal) in recent days, and he is much better; he wants to do well in the Olympics, and we will see whether we can do it.

The tennis player himself shared a video on Instagram a few days ago, showing him exercising at a high level for the next tournament, Paris 2024. He was trained at Movistar’s Rafa Nadal Academy, which is located in Manacor where he lives. Nadal opted not to compete in Wimbledon in order to avoid jeopardizing his preparations for the Olympic tournament and be in the best possible shape for his final games.

The Olympic event begins on July 27, the day following the opening ceremony. It concludes on August 3 with the final. Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz might be among the four participants in the final. “They want to succeed (Nadal and Alcaraz). Toni Nadal remarked, “I think they are clear candidates for the gold medal.”

It should be noted that, while the two Spaniards are of excellent caliber, they have never played together, which could be a disadvantage. “It won’t be easy because they’ve never played together and you can always feel that a bit,” according to Toni Nadal.

Rafa Nadal, on the other hand, has demonstrated his ability as a doubles player on numerous times, notably the gold medal he earned with Spanish partner Marc López in Rio 2016. However, with two players of this caliber, anything can happen. “Rafael is a great doubles player at the moment” whilst Alcaraz “is one of the best players in the world” . Toni Nadal was eager to assist his nephew while remaining objective.

Rafa Nadal’s resolve to reach peak physical form among a sea of ailments is impressive. A player who has won it all and could retire in peace with all of his duties completed is determined to have more fun and train than ever. He has accomplished so much on the field and under such challenging conditions that he clearly deserves a vote of confidence.

Many of the world’s top tennis players, who have been sidelined by career-ending injuries, want to compete in Paris in 2024. Novak Djokovic is one of them. He has been battling a knee ailment that threatened to keep him out of Wimbledon, but his comeback may allow him to compete. Andy Murray is a third well-known tennis player. He underwent back surgery on Saturday and had to retire from Wimbledon. The Scot, the only man to win two Olympic titles, was set to retire in Paris in 2024.
