MotoGP : Marc Marquez react to press after been asked about his influence to Alex Marquez’s MotoGP future down

Marc Marquez claims he would never have switched to Ducati unless his brother did first.

However, he claims Alex Marquez is fast enough to deserve his own MotoGP career and does not rely on his assistance.

The brothers are teammates in the Gresini box this season, but their partnership will end in 2025 when Marc joins the factory Ducati squad.

What about Alex in 2025? Can Marc assist him?

“It has not entered nor will it ever enter into my business,” Marc stated to AS.

“My brother is fast enough to own a MotoGP motorcycle on his own.

“But it is true that I am at Gresini with a Ducati thanks to him.

“If he hadn’t taken the initiative, I wouldn’t have ended up in Gresini and riding a Ducati.

“You have a sibling, and you witness his success and pleasure, and that atmosphere has a positive impact on you.

“One year it appeared he wasn’t ready for MotoGP, then the next he was on pole, podium, and winning sprint events…

“Thanks to him, I wound up at Gresini, I’m riding a Ducati, and, because of him, I’ll end up on the official team.

“He has enough speed to have a MotoGP bike next year and hopefully one of the options for him can be Gresini.”

Alex left LCR Honda following a difficult season at the conclusion of 2022, joining at Gresini a year before his esteemed brother.

His contract with Gresini expires this year, and there has been no public discussion concerning his future.

However, now that Marc’s transfer to the factory team has been completed, Alex may be able to commit to his preferred position.

In his debut year on a Ducati, Alex finished on the podium twice.

This season, his best Sunday result has been fourth in Jerez.
