Rangers fc have been hit with a major injury setback after star attacker Youssef Chermiti suffered a serious knee injury during the club’s match against Hibernian.

Chermiti was forced off the pitch after sustaining the injury and was later assessed by the Rangers medical team. The club subsequently confirmed that the striker suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, meaning he is facing a significant period on the sidelines.

The news comes as a huge blow to Rangers and manager Derek McInnes, with Chermiti having established himself as an important attacking option. The Portuguese forward was also one of Rangers’ key goal threats during the previous campaign, making his absence particularly frustrating for the club.

Chermiti’s injury occurred during Rangers’ 2–1 defeat to Hibernian at Ibrox. He was carried off the pitch, immediately raising concerns about the severity of the problem.

The timing is especially unfortunate because Chermiti had reportedly attracted significant transfer interest, including an approach from Galatasaray. Rangers had rejected a major offer for the striker before the injury occurred.

Although Rangers have not given a precise return date, the club has confirmed that Chermiti will be unavailable for a significant period as he begins his rehabilitation.

His absence leaves Rangers with an important attacking problem to solve. The club will now have to rely on its other forwards to provide the goals and attacking threat needed throughout the campaign.

Rangers supporters will undoubtedly be hoping for a successful recovery for Chermiti and will be eager to see their attacking star back on the pitch as soon as it is medically safe.
