The NFL Draft content complex is impressive in that it’s an expansive, seemingly endless machine that has become big year-round business. Everybody loves to look ahead for the next big stars. Similar to recruiting, draft coverage fills that void.

The 2024 NFL Draft is this week — Thursday, Friday, Saturday in Detroit — and while there’s been plenty of draft content out there (including in our little corner of the internet), we’ve opted to do something a tad different ahead of Thursday’s first round.

We’re playing matchmaker. That is, we’re taking Alabama’s NFL Draft hopefuls and pairing them with the teams who we think they’d fit in with best.

alabama — This has been a common projection in the mock drafts, and there are a lot of teams that could use an edge rusher, such as Chicago, Washington, Arizona, Tennessee, and Atlanta. The Falcons, picking at No. 8, haven’t had a player with double-digit sacks in a single season since Vic Beasley’s 15.5 sacks in 2016. It’s been almost a decade. We’re not saying Turner is going to step in and immediately hit 10 sacks, but if he reaches his ceiling, he could be a 10-sack-a-year guy for the next decade. Plus, Atlanta has spent its last three first-round picks on offensive guys. Maybe try a standout defender?
