USA Today’s final coaches poll drops Arkansas baseball out of the top-10 the reason will shock you

Arkansas Baseball continues to receive shots more than three weeks after the season’s final game.

USA Today announced its final coaches poll Thursday, and the Hogs tumbled out of the top ten, putting an end to a disastrous baseball season. Arkansas’ ultimate record of 44-16 does not represent this viewpoint, as the team lost ten of its final 14 games. These losses include a 0-2 record in the SEC Tournament and a 1-2 mark in the Fayetteville Regional.

Arkansas finished 12th in the coaches poll, but held first place for several weeks in the middle of the season.

The SEC dominated the final poll, with Tennessee (who recently won the College World Series) at No. 1, Texas A&M at No. 2, and Kentucky at No. 3. Florida and Georgia complete the top ten, with Mississippi State at No. 20 and LSU at No. 24.

Arkansas’ late-season collapse is becoming a habit, as the team finishes outside the top ten for the second year in a row. Last season, Arkansas lost their regional to TCU in the same way.
