Newcastle Knights centre Dane Gagai and his wife Kelly Turner are reportedly grieving the loss of their second child, the couple’s representatives confirmed in a brief statement today. The personal tragedy has shocked the rugby league community and drawn an outpouring of support from teammates, fans, and fellow athletes.

Gagai, a long‑time NRL veteran and Indigenous representative player who has featured over 300 first‑grade games, has taken an indefinite leave from club duties as he and his family cope with the devastating loss.
