Barry Alvarez, the legendary former Wisconsin Badgers football coach, has been open about his health struggles in recent years. In 2021, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a neurodegenerative disorder that affects movement, balance, and coordination.

Alvarez, who led the Badgers to three Rose Bowl victories and a Big Ten Championship during his tenure from 1990 to 2005, has been using a walker or wheelchair in public appearances, citing balance issues related to his condition.
