The baseball community is mourning the sudden passing of Marcus Delgado, a first baseman for the Toronto Titans, who tragically died in a car crash late Wednesday night on his way to a charity event in downtown Toronto.
According to local authorities, the accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. near Highway 401 when Delgado’s vehicle collided with a transport truck. Emergency services responded immediately, but Delgado was pronounced dead at the scene.
Teammates, fans, and coaches have expressed heartbreak over the loss of a player widely regarded as one of the most talented hitters of his generation. “He was the heart of this team — both on and off the field,” said manager Chris Randall in an emotional statement.
The Titans organization released a message offering condolences to Delgado’s family and thanking fans for their outpouring of support.
