Three Athletes Shot at Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center

An evening of recreational sports turned tragic Wednesday night after three players were shot at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center in Wasilla. Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m., during a local basketball league game.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots from within the facility’s main gym area, prompting a rapid response from emergency services and law enforcement. The three victims—whose identities have not yet been publicly released—were all participants in the game. All three were transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. As of Thursday morning, one player remains in critical condition, while the other two are reportedly stable.
