In a shocking update, Prague’s police department announced that the two missing tourists, who disappeared over the weekend, have been found unalive in the historic ruins near KarlÅ¡tejn Castle. Authorities reported that the tourists, both from Canada, went missing after a hiking trip.
According to police spokesperson Jana Novak, search teams discovered the bodies in a secluded area of the ruins. “Despite extensive search efforts, we are deeply saddened to confirm that the two individuals were found unalive. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance and subsequent discovery are still under investigation,” Novak stated during a press briefing.
Local residents expressed their shock and grief, as the tourist season is typically a time of celebration in Prague. “It is heartbreaking to hear such news. We always welcome visitors to our beautiful city with open arms,” said one local shopkeeper, Petr Holas.
Authorities are currently working with the Canadian embassy to notify the families of the victims and are urging anyone with information regarding the circumstances of their disappearance to come forward. The police have also reassured the public that safety measures are being reviewed in the popular hiking areas to prevent such incidents in the future.
As the investigation continues, the story has drawn international attention, with many travelers expressing their concerns about safety while visiting the Czech Republic. Local officials are expected to hold a press conference later this week to address these concerns and provide updates on the ongoing investigation.
