Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has cleared concussion protocol and will play against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, head coach Nick Sirianni announced.
PHILADELPHIA, PA – In a major boost for the Eagles, quarterback Jalen Hurts has been cleared from concussion protocol and will be suiting up to face off against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
“I’m thrilled to announce that Jalen has been cleared by our medical staff and will be good to go for Sunday’s game,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said in a press conference earlier today. “He’s been working hard to get back on the field and I’m confident in his ability to lead our team to victory against a tough Packers squad.”
Hurts suffered a concussion in last week’s game against the New York Giants and was forced to sit out the team’s practice sessions. However, he has been working tirelessly with the Eagles’ training staff and medical team to ensure his safety and readiness to return to action.
“It was a tough break, but I knew my guys had my back,” Hurts said in a statement. “I’m grateful for their support and I’m excited to get back out there and lead my team to a win.”
The Eagles, who are currently 7-6 on the season, are looking to bounce back from a tough loss to the Giants and keep their playoff hopes alive. They will face off against a Packers team that is 9-4 on the season and looking to solidify their position in the NFC North.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 PM EST on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
