In a shocking move, the University of Arkansas has announced that Lou Holtz, the current head coach of the New York Jets, will be returning to Fayetteville to take over as the head football coach of the Razorbacks.
Holtz, who previously served as the head coach at Arkansas from 1977 to 1983, will be replacing Frank Broyles, who left his coaching position to become the athletic director at the university.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Holtz back to Arkansas,” said Broyles. “He is a legendary coach with a proven track record of success, and we are confident that he will lead our team to greatness.”
Holtz, who has been coaching in the NFL for the past several years, expressed his excitement about returning to college football and the opportunity to coach at Arkansas again.
“I am honored to be returning to the University of Arkansas, where my coaching career began,” said Holtz. “I am looking forward to working with the talented young men on our team and helping them achieve their goals.”
Holtz’s hiring has sent shockwaves throughout the college football world, with many experts predicting that he will lead the Razorbacks to a national championship.
“Coach Holtz is a mastermind on the sidelines,” said ESPN analyst Lee Corso. “He knows how to motivate his players and get the most out of them. Arkansas is lucky to have him back.”
Holtz will be introduced as the new head coach at a press conference on Friday, where he will outline his vision for the future of the Razorbacks football program.
