Shedeur Sanders and his NFL future remain a topic of debate and discussion, and now one of the Las Vegas Raiders‘ most iconic fans has weighed in on whether the team should take a chance on drafting the quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. The rapper is a lifelong fan and shared his opinion on who they should pick in the Draft.
That fan is Ice Cube, the legendary West Coast rapper who still holds a deep connection to the Silver and Black.
Ice Cube’s statement on Shedeur Sanders
When asked if he wanted Shedeur Sanders for the Las Vegas Raiders, he didn’t hesitate to respond, “Of course!”
“I think his pedigree-you can’t dismiss that. He’s seen how to do it on the professional level for a very long time… Has a great, amazing coach [and father] in Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. … If he’s there, I think the Raiders should take him,” Cube explained.
However, he’s also aware that teams often need to address other needs, and the team heavily involving Tom Brady is no exception.
“They’ve gotta still deal with some great quarterbacks in the AFC West, so we gotta make sure we can stop somebody,” the rapper said. “Cause scoring ain’t the only thing, we’ve got some great quarterbacks out here.”
The moment of truth for the Raiders and Tom Brady will arrive in just a week, and while Shedeur has been consistently linked to the organization now led by new head coach Pete Carroll, several analysts project the Raiders selecting Ashton Jeanty at the No. 6 pick-though nothing is set in stone.
On the other hand, and unfortunately for Shedeur Sanders, the idea of drafting a quarterback isn’t limited to him as the only option. In fact, for many fans, the alternative of selecting Jalen Milroe, who shone at Alabama during his college career, is also appealing.
This was revealed by SB Nation in a poll conducted with Las Vegas Raiders fans, though one obstacle with this option is that to select him in the second round, he would need to be available at the No. 37 pick.
