Heartbreaking: Landon Jackson American football player Just Passed Away At the Aged of 21….see..more..ESPN and Rivals both rated Collins and Henderson, from Leeds, Ala., as 4-star recruits.
“These two kids, man, they jump in front of the line and they get in the middle of the older guys and they’re workers,” Adams said of Collins’ and Henderson’s attitudes in practice. “They really work hard and they have a lot of development to come along.
“They’ve got to get stronger, obviously put on more weight. But (they have) the hunger to play the game and learn the system and not be shy being around all the older guys.”
Jackson said Collins and Henderson are learning every day and eager to improve.
“I feel like that’s the biggest thing as a freshman, you’ve got to come in knowing you’ve got to get better,” Jackson said. “You can’t come in assuming that you’re already the best and you’re going to come in and do this and that.
“Both of them know they’re real talented, but at the same time they’re asking questions. They’re trying to learn every day and trying to become the best versions of themselves right now.”
Jackson, a worthy role model for the freshmen and all the other players on the team, made the decision to return to Arkansas rather than enter the NFL Draft.
“He and I sat down and had a conversation,” Adams said. “He had some goals in mind and his family had goals in mind, and I think that he wanted to come back to reach some of those goals at this level and even moving on to the next level.
“I’m expecting a lot from him.”
Jackson said he is expecting a lot from himself as well.
“I really want to finish my college career with a bang,” Jackson said. “Since I was a kid, my main goal was to play in the SEC and not just play in it, but dominate the SEC.
“That was my goal as a kid before any thoughts of the NFL. Now my goal obviously is to go to the NFL, but I’ve got to complete my initial goal.
“I want to come back and have a dominating season as a team, not just as an individual player. Really get those wins.”
Along with his play on defense, Jackson can help the Razorbacks win on offense with his work against Carmona.
“I tell Fernando as many times as I can, ‘If you can block Landon, you can pretty much block anybody,’ ” Arkansas senior guard Josh Braun said. “To be able to go against that in practice is very valuable.”
