Usain Bolt is one of the most outstanding track and field athletes who needs no introduction. Even though Bolt may not be competing in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and won’t be displaying his signature lighting bolt gesture, his presence continues to be felt on the track, having won eight Olympic gold medals.
Usain Bolt’s journey to becoming a standout in athletics began at the age of 16. His early success set the stage for his impact on the sport and future achievements. In 2009, at the Berlin World Championships, Bolt set a world record of 9.58 seconds in the 100m. He went on to win gold medals in the 100m and 200m races in three consecutive Olympic Games and also secured two 4×100 relay gold medals.
The Olympic legend retired from the Olympics in 2017, leaving a void that is yet to be filled. His absence is keenly felt, but he now focuses on inspiring the younger generation through the Usain Bolt Foundation, which is dedicated to creating opportunities through education and cultural development for positive change.
Here’s a look at the Olympic medals that Usain Bolt won.
