In a stunning twist that has sports fans scratching their heads and rewriting rulebooks, former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks made an eyebrow-raising statement in an interview this morning:

“Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is absolutely worthy of being considered as the new Oklahoma City Thunder Head Coach,” Brooks said. “Honestly, he could drop 30 points, dish 10 assists, and still draw up a better ATO play than I ever did.”

Brooks, who famously led the Thunder to the Super Bowl in the 2012 NBA Finals (citation very much needed), appeared on the popular podcast Hoops, Dreams & Conspiracies, where he discussed the future of basketball, quantum coaching, and the increasing possibility of players coaching themselves via hologram.

But the most buzzworthy moment came when Brooks suggested that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC’s current All-NBA superstar, may be ready to pull double duty as both franchise player and head coach.

“Look, LeBron’s been doing it unofficially for 15 years,” Brooks added. “Shai just makes it look smoother.”

When asked how SGA would manage timeouts and rotations mid-game, Brooks replied:

“Easy. Mirror.”

The NBA has not responded to these comments, but rumors are already swirling that the Thunder are considering a revolutionary move: naming SGA Player-Coach-Vice-President of Dunk Affairs by 2026.

In related news, Kevin Durant reportedly heard the quote and laughed so hard he accidentally tweeted from a burner account.
