The Tennessee Titans have officially announced that their much-anticipated new Nissan Stadium will open its doors ahead of the 2027 NFL season.
The announcement came early Tuesday morning during a press conference featuring Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The opening game is expected to be a marquee event, potentially including a nationally televised matchup to highlight the stadium’s debut.
“This stadium represents more than a home for football,” said Adams Strunk. “It’s a commitment to Nashville’s future—a world-class venue that will serve as a hub for sports, entertainment, and community events for decades to come.”
Construction on the $2.1 billion project broke ground in 2024, following years of planning, negotiations, and public input. The new stadium replaces the original Nissan Stadium, which opened in 1999. The updated venue will feature a translucent roof, cutting-edge acoustics for concerts and events, expanded concourses, enhanced seating comfort, and sustainability-focused engineering.
Local leaders praised the project not just for its sports value but for its potential economic impact, projecting over 6,000 permanent jobs and billions in future revenue for the Nashville metro area.
In addition to Titans home games, the new Nissan Stadium is expected to host future Super Bowls, College Football Playoff games, major concerts, and even FIFA World Cup events if selected as a site.
An exact date for the grand opening and first game will be released later this year. However, Titans fans can already begin dreaming about a new era—both on and off the field.
