— In a move that has stunned fans, teammates, and financial advisors alike, New England Patriots star cornerback Christian Gonzalez has just made headlines for a reason that transcends football.
Upon signing his new NFL contract, which includes a $25 million signing bonus, Gonzalez made an unprecedented and heartwarming decision:
He’s donating the entire bonus to build free youth sports academies across the country.
“Football gave me everything,” Gonzalez said at a press conference Friday morning. “I want to give that opportunity to kids who might never otherwise have access to coaches, gear, or even a safe place to play.”
