Mullin, a Hall of Famer, five-time NBA All-Star, and member of the iconic 1992 “Dream Team”, is celebrated as one of the greatest shooters and scorers in Warriors history. His return marks a full-circle moment for both the franchise and its loyal fan base.
Warriors ownership and management described the move as a “powerful reunion,” aimed at bringing veteran experience and basketball wisdom to guide the current roster, especially rising young stars alongside established veterans like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
“Chris Mullin embodies everything the Golden State Warriors stand for — hard work, leadership, and excellence,” said the team in a press release. “His knowledge of the game and history with this franchise will be invaluable as we continue to pursue championships.”
Fans at the Chase Center greeted the news with thunderous applause, many remembering Mullin’s days in the late ’80s and early ’90s when he led the team as part of the high-scoring “Run TMC” trio alongside Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond.
Mullin, visibly emotional, addressed the crowd: “This is home. I wore this jersey with pride as a player, and now I have the honor of wearing it again in a new way. I’m here to help these guys reach new heights.”
With Mullin back in the fold, excitement is building for the upcoming season as the Warriors aim to blend their storied past with their championship-driven future.
