According to early reports, Baldelli submitted his resignation letter citing personal and family reasons, as well as a desire to step back from the intense demands of the managerial role after years of dedication to the Twins organization.
In his statement, Baldelli expressed deep gratitude for the Twins family, saying:
> “This was not an easy decision, but it’s one I had to make for the well-being of my family and myself. The Minnesota Twins will always have my heart, and I’m proud of what we built together.”
Rocco Baldelli, who took over as manager in 2019, led the Twins to multiple postseason appearances and was widely respected for his leadership and player-first philosophy. His departure leaves a significant void at a critical point in the season.
The Minnesota Twins front office is expected to announce an interim head coach within the coming hours, while the search for a permanent replacement begins immediately.
