BREAKING NEWS : Dallas Mavericks Power Forward Anthony Davis Signs a New Multi-Year Contract Extension due to…..

In a headline-grabbing move that underscores the Dallas Mavericks’ commitment to building a championship-caliber

roster, power forward Anthony Davis has signed a new multi-year contract extension, cementing his place at the heart of the team’s future.

Why He Signed: A Perfect Fit in Dallas

Sources close to the team confirmed that Davis’ decision to extend his stay in Dallas was driven largely by his growing chemistry with Luka Dončić, the Mavericks’ franchise cornerstone, and the franchise’s bold vision for the future.

> “From day one, it felt different here,” Davis said in a statement released Monday night. “Luka and I have developed a connection that’s rare in this league. I’ve never felt more aligned with a team’s goals and culture.”

The Mavericks acquired Davis in a blockbuster trade from the Lakers last season, a move that was seen as a high-risk gamble given his injury history. But the gamble has paid off — and then some.

A Dominant Season

In the 2024–25 season, Davis reminded the league why he’s one of the most complete big men in NBA history, averaging 24.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game, while anchoring the Mavericks’ top-five defense.

Head coach Jason Kidd praised Davis’ versatility and leadership, saying, “Anthony’s presence has transformed this team. He’s a winner, plain and simple.”

The Deal

While the Mavericks have not officially disclosed the financial terms, league insiders estimate the extension to be a four-year deal worth north of $200 million, keeping Davis in Dallas through

the 2028–29 season.
