Breaking news: Graham Potter to Leicester deal done. 5-year deal with Leicester City.

A Graham Potter is their top choice to succeed Enzo Maresca as manager. Potter hasn’t had a job since Chelsea fired him in April 2023, less than seven months into the job.

Following Maresca’s departure to join Chelsea at the beginning of the month, Leicester find themselves without a manager as they prepare to return to the Premier League. Potter had a lackluster tenure at Stamford Bridge, but his performance at Brighton has kept his reputation high. After leaving Chelsea, Potter has bided his time and has lately held talks with Brighton following an interest expressed by the Dutch club Ajax.

Leicester are seeking a forward-thinking coach similar to Maresca. Cooper, who was sacked by Nottingham Forest in December, has been considered for several positions and recently turned down interest from Burnley following Vincent Kompany’s departure, as he is keen on securing a Premier League job. Leicester have returned to the top flight after winning the championship in their first attempt following relegation, but their financial situation remains uncertain. The Premier League has penalized the club for breaking sustainability and profitability regulations, and in order to comply, they may have to sell important players like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall before the season begins.
