DONE DEAL:Davante Adams Signs Two-Year Deal With Rams After Jets Release

In a significant offseason move, the Los Angeles Rams have secured six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams on a two-year contract valued at $46 million, with $26 million guaranteed. This acquisition comes shortly after Adams’ release from the New York Jets, where he concluded the 2024 season.

Adams’ 2024 season was marked by transitions, beginning with the Las Vegas Raiders before a midseason trade reunited him with quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the Jets. Despite the team’s struggles, culminating in a 5-12 record and subsequent organizational changes, Adams delivered a commendable performance. Over 14 games, he amassed 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns, marking his fifth consecutive season surpassing the 1,000-yard receiving mark.

The Jets’ decision to release Adams was primarily driven by salary cap considerations. His departure cleared approximately $29.9 million from their cap space, as he was slated to account for a $38.3 million cap hit—the highest among NFL wide receivers for the 2025 season.

Transitioning to the Rams, Adams is poised to become a central figure in their offensive strategy, especially with reports indicating that standout receiver Cooper Kupp is on the trade block. Paired with emerging talent Puka Nacua, Adams will provide quarterback Matthew Stafford with a formidable receiving duo.

Adams’ illustrious 11-season NFL career includes tenures with the Green Bay Packers, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Jets. His career statistics boast 957 receptions, 11,844 receiving yards, and 103 touchdowns, underscoring his status as one of the league’s elite wide receivers.

The Rams’ acquisition of Adams not only enhances their receiving corps but also signals their commitment to remaining competitive in the NFC West. As the 2025 season approaches, all eyes will be on how Adams integrates into Los Angeles’ offense and contributes to their pursuit of championship aspirations.
