OFFICIAL REPORT: Eagles Predicted to Lose Star Defender to NFC East Rival article……

The Philadelphia Eagles are predicted to lose star defender Josh Sweat to an NFC East rival, specifically the Washington Commanders  Sweat, who recorded eight sacks and 41 tackles last season, is set to hit free agency and is widely regarded as one of the best pass rushers available.

ESPN’s John Keim predicts that Sweat will sign a three-year, $60 million deal with the Commanders, with $40 million guaranteed ¹. This would be a significant signing for the Commanders, who have $78.5 million in cap space, the third most of any NFL team heading into 2025

The loss of Sweat would be a significant blow to the Eagles’ defense, which has been one of the team’s strengths in recent years. However, it’s worth noting that the Eagles have a strong track record of developing defensive talent, so they may be able to find a suitable replacement for Sweat.
