In a historic move, the NFL has announced that Dublin’s Croke Park will host Ireland’s first regular-season NFL game in 2025, featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers as the designated home team.

This landmark event is part of the NFL’s broader strategy to expand its international footprint, with additional games planned in Madrid, Berlin, and Melbourne, Australia. The Steelers’ deep-rooted connections to Ireland, particularly through the Rooney family’s Irish heritage, make them a fitting choice for this inaugural game.

Croke Park, renowned for its rich history and capacity of over 82,000, is an ideal venue for this significant occasion. The exact date and the Steelers’ opponent will be announced later this spring.

The Steelers previously played in Dublin during the 1997 American Bowl against the Chicago Bears, marking their first appearance in Ireland.

This upcoming game underscores the NFL’s commitment to engaging with international audiences and capitalizing on the growing interest in American football across Europe. With the Steelers’ strong ties to Ireland and the iconic setting of Croke Park, the 2025 game promises to be a memorable event for fans both in Ireland and worldwide.
