MIAMI HEAT SHOCKS NBA WITH BLOCKBUSTER SIGNING: LEBRON JAMES’ PROTEGE, JAREN JACKSON JR.’S BROTHER, JASON JACKSON, LEAVES LAKERS FOR SOUTH BEACH.

The Miami Heat has pulled off an astonishing coup, signing 25-year-old power forward Jason Jackson, younger brother of Memphis Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr., away from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Sources close to the team confirm:

– 4-year, $60 million contract
– Player option for 5th year
– Sign-and-trade deal sends Kendrick Nunn and Precious Achiuwa to LA

Jason Jackson, a 6’9″ athletic phenom, averaged 12.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game for the Lakers’ G-League affiliate.

Heat President Pat Riley praised Jackson’s “tremendous upside” and “championship pedigree.”

LeBron James, Jackson’s mentor, tweeted: “Proud of my youngin’! Miami got a steal.”

The signing is expected to bolster Miami’s frontcourt and contend for the Eastern Conference title..
